they arrive in Paris, but their luggage remains in Algiers

Managing passenger baggage is not always easy for airlines serving Algeria or other countries such as ASL Airlines, Air Algérie or Transavia. It sometimes happens that they opt for solutions that do not always suit their customers.

This was particularly the case during an Algiers-Paris CDG flight operated by ASL Airlines on Sunday May 13. Upon arrival at their destination, some passengers found that their luggage could not be found.

What didn’t help matters was that the French low-cost company had not provided any information to its customers on this subject. They therefore did not know whether they should wait for their suitcases to arrive or leave without them.

ASL Airlines: passengers on a Paris-Algiers flight struggle to find their luggage

The passengers of this flight took off from Algiers airport on Sunday May 12 at 4:25 p.m. to arrive in Paris CDG at 8 p.m., as planned. The flight went well, but when they arrived at the Paris airport, around thirty passengers were surprised not to find their suitcases on the baggage carousel, one of the unfortunate travelers told TSA.

A frustrating wait thus begins for them. Indeed, and while the company and its staff observed radio silence in the face of this situation, the affected passengers had the only hope that their lost suitcases would arrive on board the company’s next flight, which was scheduled to take off from Algiers at 5:10 p.m. and arrive at Paris CDG at 8:45 p.m.

Unfortunately, this flight was delayed for an hour during which these passengers had to hold their breath while the company still showed total indifference to their fate. “No information has been communicated to us” from ASL Airlines, notes the traveler.

He assures that he had to wait until 11:40 p.m. to finally get his hands on his suitcase, almost four hours after the arrival of his flight, adding that he was only able to arrive home after midnight. “I arrived home at 12:30 a.m.,” he said.

Some travelers did not wait for their suitcases to arrive from Algiers. They left the airport. Others who in transit missed their flights to other destinations. “I couldn’t leave my suitcase until the next day. I brought back some products that I needed. Instead of going home at 9:00 p.m., I arrived home after midnight. It was a very long journey,” said this passenger.
