What if Paris was the city best served by public transport in the world?

Permanent information, in the field of tourism like the rest. Not sure of always following or not missing these important things that might occasionally interest us. This is why we invite you every day to revisit a news story that came out recently in order to (re)highlight it a little.

Not that bad…

This may seem surprising, especially to those who travel or live there, but Paris would be THE city best served by public transport in the world.

At least this is what emerges from this “World Transport Index” published each year and which is based on a selection of criteria such as the cost of urban travel, the size of public transport fleets, or even the number of lines and stops available. And out of a preselected panel of 19 major cities around the world, Paris would therefore be Number 1 for 2023 ahead of Stockholm and Hong Kong.

Not bad and a little contrary to what we often hear when we talk about public transport in the capital…. even if it is true that if we also take into account the (over)occupancy rates at certain times, the various problems and other recurring strikes that may occur on the networks or certain lines, the results could be a little less good . Or simply mean that if the city has good assets in terms of public transport, it is perhaps in the operation and daily life that this seems (sometimes) to get stuck.

But it is also true that moving more than 10 million people every day is not easy either and logically implies that there will be failures…
