The 3rd edition of the Court Theater Festival will take place in the heart of the Maubuisson station on Saturday May 18 and Sunday May 19.
Theater lovers will be able to discover troupes made up of students from the Cours Florent de Bordeaux, Montpellier and Brussels who will perform on open-air stages. The concept is simple: throughout the weekend, the actors present themselves to the spectators with original, impactful works, in a condensed format (no more than 20 minutes) and in a minimalist setting, under the watchful eye of a jury composed of theater professionals.
Around ten troupes will be present during this festival with the aim of seducing spectators by bringing them into a world of creativity and artistic expression, all in a good mood and in an original setting. Three scenes installed on the central hub, on the Place de la Chapelle and by the lake, will be animated alternately.
“From comedy to drama, including experimental pieces, each performance will offer a unique and memorable experience with committed young artists who push the limits of traditional theater offering a journey beyond the boundaries of the imagination,” indicate organizers.
The inauguration of the festival will take place on Saturday at 11 a.m. on Place du Pôle with a presentation of the participants in the event. Each will give a taste of their performance with a three-minute teaser. The performances will begin at 2 p.m. on the different stages. To close this first day, an open-air concert will be organized from 9 p.m.
On Sunday, performances will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The prize giving ceremony will take place at 5 p.m. on the Place du Pôle.
The festival is supported by the Médoc Atlantique Tourist Office and the municipality of Carcans in partnership with Cours Florent. Access is free.
