During the examination of the finance bill in the Assembly, the deputies adopted an amendment in order to make unfurnished rental more attractive for landlords.
“Less taxes for owners who rent long-term!” Here is the ambition of the PS deputy who made this amendment. Adopted during the examination of the finance bill in the Assembly this Wednesday, October 23, this amendment proposes to reduce taxation on unfurnished rentals.
Until now, owners renting their property bare under the micro-land regime could benefit from a reduction of 30% up to 15,000 euros. This amendment plans to increase this rate from 30 to 50% in order to “promote the rental of long-term housing”.
“Rebalancing tax benefits”
“The number of rental accommodations has been halved in 4 years and the growth of furnished rentals and in particular furnished tourist accommodation s accelerating to the detriment of the bare rental stock”, explains the socialist deputy Iñaki Echaniz in the explanatory memorandum. “This amendment aims to rebalance the tax advantages of furnished rentals and bare rentals.”
This measure is a duplicate since it also appears in another bill supported by Iñaki Echaniz with Renaissance MP Annaïg le Meur and which also plans to tackle the taxation of furnished tourist accommodation.
In this text, they also propose to discourage owners from offering their accommodation on platforms such as Airbnb, by reducing the reduction from which they benefit. Its exact amount will be at the heart of the discussions in the joint committee which will open at the end of the month on this proposal.
