It’s difficult to talk about corn mazes without mentioning the famous maze developed year after year in Kamouraska.
For the 11e year of his project, which has already earned him the Guinness Record for the largest corn maze in 2022, designer Luc Pelletier decided to draw the biggest YES possible. The designer, who also added a fleur-de-lis in the design, as he did in 2023 and 2024, explains that he thought long and hard before making this three-letter word the centerpiece of his work.
“Even while tracing it on the ground, I doubted, wondering if it was a good idea. Finally I listened to myself and I did it,” explains Mr. Pelletier, who assures that his desire is to join as many people as possible in a positive movement. He even thought about subtitling his work with an English “yes”, a Spanish “si” and an Atikamekw “ehe”.
The objective always remains the same: to escape the maze. According to the creator, less than 10% of visitors manage to complete the journey without cheating. Major difference however for this special maze; it will have two outputs, one titled “YES” and another titled “NO”.
“I respect everyone’s opinion and I expect the same thing from everyone,” insists the man who traces all the paths of his work by hand.
The labyrinth, which is located in La Pocatière, is accessible from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., from July 18 to October 31.
